FAQs

  • You’ll gain hands-on training in Fashion Week hairstyling techniques, backstage etiquette, networking strategies, and how to make the most of show day for career opportunities.

  • You may need to bring certain hairstyling tool, plus your own travel essentials. A full checklist will be provided before the academy begins.

  • No, attendees are responsible for booking their own flights and accommodation.

    We will be able to provide a list of recommendations closer to the time of travel.

    We recommend waiting for confirmation before making travel arrangements, as locations may change.

  • Even at Lilly Hilt’s debut, we had a variety of experience within stylists!

    We had a member who had only been qualified for just 2 years, and some of our team had over 20 years of experience!

    The only thing we require of you is passion, teamwork and to communicate when something is wrong or you need help.

    Also, years of experience doesn’t determine your skill set as a hairdresser. So don’t over think it!

  • Our pro team is a selected few that we have worked with previously and have taken our training.

    It helps us ensure that we have a range of stylists with a guaranteed skill set that is essential for running a smooth operation and that can cater to a range of different hair styles, types or textures.

    It’s also to ensure that you have someone you can go to at all times. Jodie and Trayce are very in demand people when the shows are taking place, and if they aren’t around, the pro team is there to help guide and assist you if needed.

  • Prove to everyone you are.

    One thing we’ve realised about Fashion Week is the reason why everyone excels so much is because it’s a fresh start.

    No one knows you. You know no one.
    And it’s a blessing.

    You could of qualified yesterday, and no one would know any different.

    Sometimes it’s all you need to prove to yourself, and others that you are more than what meets the eye.

  • Lunch will be provided on the main show day, but you’ll need to cover your own meals outside of that.

  • Standout stylists may be invited to work on future private Fashion Week shows, opening up further opportunities in the industry.
